74th Independence Day In India 2020

  • The country would be celebrating its Independence Day on Saturday. It is the 74th Indian Independence Day this year which means India has achieved 73 years of freedom.
  • We as Indians pay respect to all the leaders who fought bravely for our nation’s freedom in the past. On this day, the Prime Minister of India will hoist our tricolor flag at the Red Fort, Old Delhi. He will also deliver a speech to the nation as well.
  • As we know Independence Day is one of the three national holidays — the other two being Republic Day and Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
  • This year, because of the pandemic, many restrictions are already in place. It is, therefore, advised that you observe the day and revel in patriotism from the safety of your house, maintain all social distancing and safety guidelines, and keep yourself and your community safe.
  • The Ministry of Defence and the Delhi Police is taking particular precautions forward of Independence Day Flag Hoisting Ceremony on August 15 in gentle of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • The safety has been beefed up in Delhi-NCR with multi-layered preparations and strict vigil at the border areas. Apart from this, businesses like NSG, SPG, and ITBP have been placed on excessive alerts.
  • According to reviews, over 45,000 safety personnel might be guarding town on Independence Day apart from over 2,000 snipers deputed at particular places on high-rises in round 5 km periphery of the Red Fort.
  • In Delhi, at least 350 police personnel who might be a part of the guard of honour at the Red Fort have been quarantined forward of the ceremony at the police colony in the Delhi Cantonment.
