IG Defence to Unveil Indigenous Strike and Autonomous Systems at North Tech Symposium 2026

IG Defence is set to showcase a range of advanced indigenous platforms at the North Tech Symposium 2026, highlighting its growing capabilities in precision strike, autonomous systems, and counter-drone technologies.

The company’s presentation will feature its flagship systems—KAL, a long-range strike drone, and JWALA, a rapid-response missile platform—alongside a broader portfolio that includes unmanned aerial and ground systems, swarm technologies, logistics platforms, and anti-drone solutions.

IG Defence KAL

The symposium, emerging as a key platform for next-generation military technologies in India, is expected to bring together stakeholders from the armed forces, defence public sector units, private industry, and innovation ecosystems. IG Defence’s participation comes at a time when modern conflicts—such as the Russia–Ukraine war—have demonstrated the increasing importance of scalable, cost-effective, and electronically resilient warfare systems.

Flagship Systems on Display

At the centre of the showcase is KAL, designed for deep-penetration missions with a range of up to 1,000 km and endurance between three to six hours. The system integrates GNSS-aided navigation, autonomous waypoint flight, and optical targeting, enabling precision engagement in contested environments.

Complementing it is JWALA, a short-range missile system built for high-speed and high-accuracy engagements. It features inertial navigation with terminal guidance and a modular launch architecture, allowing flexible deployment across varied terrains.

Expanding Autonomous Ecosystem

Beyond these platforms, IG Defence will also present:

  • FPV STRIKER, a low-cost tactical strike system reportedly deployed during Operation Sindoor
  • GAJA Logistics Drone, capable of carrying 100–200 kg payloads for high-altitude supply missions
  • UGV NANDI, designed for ground logistics and reconnaissance
  • ASTRA Swarm System, enabling coordinated multi-drone operations
  • SKYHAWK VTOL, built for long-endurance intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions

The company will also highlight its anti-drone solutions, which combine electronic warfare, RF detection, and countermeasure systems to detect and neutralize hostile UAV threats.

Focus on Atmanirbharta

Speaking on the development of indigenous defence capabilities, Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya, Founder and CEO of IG Defence, emphasized the importance of building systems aligned with real operational needs.

“Atmanirbharta in defence is not only about reducing dependence, but about creating systems that can evolve, adapt, and be sustained over time,” he said.

Echoing this, Major General R.C. Padhi (Retd.), Senior Vice President – R&D, highlighted the shift in modern warfare toward integrated systems combining strike, surveillance, swarm intelligence, and counter-drone measures.

Strategic Significance

The showcase underscores IG Defence’s expansion into high-demand defence segments, particularly unmanned systems and counter-UAS technologies. As India continues to prioritise indigenous innovation, platforms like KAL and JWALA reflect a broader shift toward adaptable, integrated, and future-ready military capabilities.

The North Tech Symposium 2026 is expected to serve as a key engagement platform, with IG Defence’s participation highlighting the increasing role of private sector companies in strengthening India’s defence preparedness and technological self-reliance.
