2 India Army Jawan Arrested For Sharing Information To Pakistan

An Army Jawan posted at an army unit in Madhya Pradesh has been arrested by the central intelligence agencies for allegedly sharing classified information with Pakistan, as reported by TOI. Identify as Rohit Kumar, currently posted in Bhopal, was arrested from his native place in the Kodwa village of Ambala district (Haryana) on Wednesday.

Inputs on ORBAT, training, and unit locations were shared. He is being questioned by various intelligence officers for more details,” said an officer wishing not to be quoted. While refusing to disclose any information about suspect’s current unit, the officer confirmed that he was under close watch since his last posting in Assam. Another army man Ram Singh who was posted as Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur region was also arrested on similar charges on Wednesday. He too was honey-trapped. Police have found crucial information on his phone. “The intelligence department had a tip-off that Ram Singh was involved in espionage. The sleuths of various intelligence departments were keeping a close vigil on his activities for the last three months. He was arrested after intelligence agencies confirmed that he was sending sensitive information of the Indian Army to a Pakistani agent,” said a senior police officer.

The source further added that the Pakistani girl did not rush in trapping Singh. “To make him believe she was no agent, she started with formal chats for a few minutes initially and gradually both started chatting for hours.”

Further details awaited.
