Bengaluru-Made Sky Striker Drones Shine in Operation Sindoor

In a defining moment for India’s defence capabilities, the SkyStriker fully autonomous loitering munitions, developed through a collaboration between Adani Defence’s owned Alpha designs and Israel’s Elbit Systems, made a striking debut during Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. The operation, which targeted nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), has not only demonstrated India’s growing military prowess but also highlighted the strategic importance of indigenous defense technology in modern warfare.

The SkyStriker is a sophisticated loitering munition designed for precision strikes. Capable of carrying a 5 to 10 kg warhead, it can loiter over target areas for extended periods, ensuring accurate engagement of enemy assets. Its electric propulsion system grants it a minimal acoustic signature, allowing for covert operations at low altitudes.

The operation Sindoor utilized a combination of advanced weaponry, including the SkyStriker drones, BrahMos missiles, and Rafale aircraft equipped with SCALP missiles. The precision and effectiveness of the SkyStriker drones were instrumental in the success of these strikes.

Apart from Sky Striker, Adani Defence and Aerospace offers a complete array of Loitering Munitions for strategic and tactical operations. These munitions can loiter from 30 minutes to 6 hours before engaging with the target. Anchoring a vital position in the Kamikaze drone industry, Adani Defence & Aerospace has built an indigenous ecosystem of local development, manufacturing, and integration.

The operational success of the SkyStriker drones is not just a technological win but also a strategic endorsement of India’s private defence ecosystem, especially companies like Adani Defence and Aerospace and many more. Operation Sindoor was not just about striking back — it was about striking back with Indian-made weapons, many of which were produced by startups and private defence firms. From Adani’s SkyStrikers to Bharat Dynamics’ Counter drone systems, it showcased the power of a self-reliant India in warfare technology. Backed by visionaries in the private sector like Adani Defence, India is no longer just a buyer of weapons — it is becoming a builder of battlefield solutions. As future conflicts demand speed, stealth, and precision, India’s homegrown capabilities may very well be its most powerful weapon.
