Indian Army Successfully Tests BrahMos-ER

The Indian Army BrahMos Missile Regiment conducted a successful test of the extended range BrahMos supersonic cruise missile (BrahMos ER) from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on October 10.

This test was part of induction trials, with the missile not yet being officially inducted. The Indian Army will assess its performance before making a decision. Developed by BrahMos Aerospace, a joint venture between Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya and India’s DRDO, the BrahMos ER is an upgraded version of the original missile, possibly equipped with an active radar seeker.

It’s powered by a liquid propellant ramjet motor, offering an estimated 72% increase in range compared to the baseline version, reaching 450-500 km.
