INS Aravali Commissioned at Gurugram

INS Aravali, the Indian Navy’s latest naval base, was commissioned at Gurugram on 12 September 2025 by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff. The ceremony featured a Guard of Honour, invocation by Captain Sachin Kumar Singh, and unveiling of the commissioning plaque by Mrs Shashi Tripathi, President NWWA, followed by hoisting of the Naval Ensign.
Named after the steadfast Aravali range, the base will provide robust administrative, logistical, and technological support, strengthening India’s Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) and communications network. Guided by its motto ‘सामुद्रिकसुरक्षायाः सहयोगं’ or ‘Maritime Security through Collaboration’, INS Aravali will act as a hub for information dominance and collaborative security in the Indian Ocean Region.
Its crest depicting mountains and a rising sun – symbolises resilience, vigilance, and the dawn of advanced naval capabilities.

Congratulating the Commanding Officer and commissioning crew CNS exhorted them to uphold the Navy’s core values of Duty, Honour, and Courage, “as you chart your course towards Excellence through Information Dominance”
INS Aravali, deriving its name from the unwavering Aravali range, shall support various information and communication centres of the Indian Navy which are key to India’s and Indian Navy’s command, control and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) framework.
