Army Chief General MM Naravane, who is on a six-day tour of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, today received Guard of Honour at Land Forces Headquarters in Saudi Arabia, becoming the first Indian Army chief to have received the honour in the gulf nation.

Pertinent to mention here that this is the first-ever visit by ahead of the Indian Army to the two strategically important Gulf countries.

Gen. Naravane also held talks with Saudi Commander General Fahd Bin Abdullah Mohammed Al-Mutir on bilateral defence cooperation.

The Army chief’s visit to Saudi Arabia aims to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
