Indian army chief Gen MM Naravane visited & reviewed security & operational preparedness on Monday. He exhorted all ranks to continue working with the same zeal and enthusiasm. He also visited Ambala Air Force Base & lauded the synergy amongst the forces. His visit marks an important step as it is being made amid tensions on LAC.
Indian Army chief General is also set to travel to Nepal next month in the first high-level visit between the two countries since a border row hit ties earlier this year.
In keeping with a long-standing convention between the armies of the two countries, Nepal’s President Vidya Devi Bhandari will “confer the honorary rank of general of the Nepali Army to Gen Naravane in an investiture ceremony during his visit”
