CO Of 46 Assam Rifles With His Wife & Son, Four Soldiers Laid Their Lives In Ambush
Very tragic and disturbing news coming from Manipur that Convoy of a Commanding Officer of an Assam Rifles unit ambushed by terrorists in Singhat sub-division of Manipur’s Churachandpur district.
Family members of the officer along with the Quick Reaction Team were in convoy, as reported by ANI. He was returning from one of his Coy posts along the Myanmar border when the incident took place.
Commanding Officer of 46 Assam Rifles battalion, Colonel Viplav Tripathi, his wife, and minor son reportedly killed in an ambush by militants in Churachandpur district of Manipur adjoining Myanmar border, as reported by sources.
Four Soldiers Laid Their Lives In Ambush. Manipur-based People’s Liberation Army suspected behind the attack. Official statement awaited. Probably this is the first time when militants in northeast have targeted a family. More details are awaited.
