Seven Hizbul Terrorists Arrested By The J-K Police From Shopian
Police on Saturday said they have arrested seven overground workers (OGWs) of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen from the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a police statement, “Shopian police, during Naka checking, arrested seven OGWs (Over Ground Workers). During the search, two hand grenades, three AK type magazines and 105 live rounds of AK were recovered from their possession.”
All seven revealed that they were OGWs of HM Outfit. In this regard, a case was registered under Indian Arms Act, 13, 18, 20, 23, 38 ULA(P) at the Shopian Police Station. An investigation is underway.
Three of the seven terrorists have been identified as – Samiullah Farooq Chopan, arResident of Meemender, Hilal Ahmad Wani, resident of Dachipora and Rameez Wani, a resident of Dachipora.
Terrorists hurl grenade at police chowki in J-K’s Baramulla
Terrorists lobbed a grenade at a police chowki near the Sopore bus stand in Baramulla district on Saturday.
“Terrorists hurled a grenade at a police chowki near the Sopore bus stand, in Baramulla district. However, it missed the target and exploded outside,” informed a statement by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Two police personnel suffered minor injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police registered a case in this regard. The investigation is in progress. The area has been cordoned off and the search is going on.
