SSS Defence Unleashes T12: India’s Desi ‘Drone Slayer’ Rifle

Bengaluru-based SSS Defence has unveiled its latest innovation: the T12 CUAS Kinetic Kill Suite. This fully indigenous anti-drone system isn’t just another piece of tech it’s a testament to India’s growing prowess in defence manufacturing, designed to empower our soldiers on the frontlines where every second counts.

In a captivating video shared by SSS Defence CEO Vivek Krishnan, the system demonstrates a clean drone takedown at an impressive 90 meters. The footage, shot in an open grassy field under overcast skies, shows a shooter in a prone position, rifle steadied on sandbags, locking onto the target. A red circle highlights the incoming drone before shots ring out, bringing it crashing down. It’s raw, real, and remarkably effective proof that Indian ingenuity can stand toe-to-toe with global threats.

“Conflict is time to build knowledge & of course sell if there’s a capability,” he posted on X, emphasizing the system’s “Indian DNA – not US, Turkish, German, or Russian.” He’s spot on about the shameless “screwdriver assembly” variants flooding the market, the T12 is pure Indian innovation, from barrel to bullet.

He acknowledges the skeptics who question kinetic solutions’ reliability at close ranges, but counters powerfully “For soldiers on the ground, it’s a choice between shooting back or certain death.” And he’s right our jawans deserve tools that give them that fighting chance.

SSS Defence, a premier player in small arms, ammunition, and high-end optics, is no stranger to pushing boundaries. Founded with a focus on military and law enforcement needs, the company already boasts the VARAHA CUAS – a next-gen system using AI-enabled acoustic signal processing to detect and neutralize drones. But the T12 takes it further into kinetic territory, aligning perfectly with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Born in Bharat, built for the world this isn’t just a slogan it’s SSS Defence’s reality.

Let’s hope the Indian Army fast tracks its induction, equipping our warriors with the best homegrown tech available.
