BRO Opens Road Ahead Of Schedule Allowing Troops At Baralacha La Pass Connecting Lahaul

Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has opened the road allowing induction of troops at Baralacha La Pass much ahead of the time schedule to gain a strategic advantage over the adversaries, ANI quoted BRO officials as saying.

Baralacha La Pass, at an altitude of 16,043 feet, is one of the highest mountain passes in the Zanskar ranges on Manali-Sarchu Road and connects the Lahaul district in Himachal Pradesh with Leh in Ladakh.

BRO chief Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhry informed that this has been planned for the first time in history to open Baralacha La pass in an early time frame.

“This will also help people of the region to get connected with the rest of the country, and transport their cash crops to markets across the pass,” the BRO officials said.
