Chinese Soldier Captured In Ladakh’s, Was Carrying Military Documents

The Indian Army has captured a Chinese army soldier near Demchok area of Ladakh. According to the initial reports, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldier was carrying civil and military documents when he was captured in Ladakh by the Indian Army.

A PLA soldier identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long was apprehended in Easthern Ladakh on 19 October 2020 after he had strayed across LAC.

The Chinese army soldier is a resident of Shangxizhen town of central Zhejiang province, China. The Indian Army took him into its custody after capturing him in Ladakh’s Demchok area.

The chinese soldier captured while carrying civil and military documents. He is an armorer who repairs firearms. The agencies are investigating if the Chinese army soldier was on an espionage mission.

PLA soldiers had been provided medical assistance including oxygen, food and warm clothes too protect him from the vagaries of extreme altitude and harsh climatic conditions.

Sources said that the Chinese army soldier will be returned to China as per established protocol and after due procedure. Chinese Army soldier to be returned to China as per established protocol after filling due procedures.

A request has also been received from the PLA about whereabouts of the missing one.

Tensions between India and China have been running high since May when India detected multiple intrusions into Indian territory by the Chinese. Tensions boiled over into a violent clash on 15 June with 20 Indian soldiers and an unknown number of Chinese troops killed.

Many rounds of talks at the military and diplomatic level have failed to ensure a resolution of the tensions. 8th round of corps commander level meeting is going to held next week. In that meeting, the Chinese soldier wang Ya Long will be returned back to Chinese officials at the Moldo-Chushul meeting point after completing the formalities.
