India Successfully Test-Fires Agni-5 Ballistic Missile

India achieved a significant milestone in its defense capabilities on August 20, 2025, with the successful test-firing of the Agni-5 intermediate range ballistic missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha. The launch, conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, validated all operational and technical parameters, marking another crucial advancement in the nation’s strategic deterrence program.
The Agni-5 represents India’s most advanced ballistic missile technology, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the prestigious Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme. This intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) stands as a testament to India’s indigenous defense manufacturing capabilities and technological prowess.
